We at TAX FIRST have recovered substantial levels of tax refunds in the UK (over 500K since February 2003). Many cases are resolved without Tax Returns, we call non-self assessment cases. Others are brought within Self-Assessment and some people who are sent a Tax Return may not require to prepare annual Tax Returns, but Tax Returns are issued for completion, so we ask the Revenue to review these cases and bring them out of
self-assessment, if appropriate, thus reducing time and costs for “ordinary” people.

Our client surveys show that our clients rate us as 80%+ for overall service and we undercut “high street” service providers by 20% to 50%, so making our services very competitive.

We check all your details covering 6 years (from 6 April 2001) and if we find nothing we will charge nothing providing everything we ask for is supplied in one bundle of documents. We ask for no fees up front and providing we are able to claim a refund we will prepare the case, submit it to the Revenue, wait for this to get processed and the refund allows us to take our fees at around 20% + VAT (maximum), which is 10% less than many firms charge, but we guarantee a thorough bespoke service and we keep our clients fully informed of the various stages, as very occasionally cases may result in protracted correspondence with Inland Revenue, but most cases are finished within 6-8 weeks after submission of relevant information to the tax office dealing with that person’s tax affairs. We will need all “original” information – P60s & P45s!

In 90% of cases that we have looked at, these people have received tax refunds, so we say that not everyone needs to see a professional person like an Accountant, but if you have not had a TAX HEALTH CHECK for UK TAXES before or you just want someone to run an “expert” eye over your tax details, we recommend that a
TAX HEALTH CHECK is done once every 5-6 years to make sure that your tax affairs are as they should be. Please note that the Revenue makes mistakes, Employers make mistake, employees may not claim “certain allowances” they are entitled to, many people just do not want to talk with the Revenue because they feel that “big brother” probably knows too much, so they just let things be, thus losing hundreds if not thousands of pounds being overpaid – never to see this money again.

What is a Tax Health Check & what are the Charges involved?

If you are not sure about what this means we will give you a brief summary. After studying your information, we write to the Revenue, asking them for any information we need. We then match their information with the information you have provided and this usually allows us to very quickly sort out any gaps and see if you could be entitled to any refund or if your Tax Code needs adjustment etc. We prepare and submit our case to the Revenue, where applicable and within 4-6 weeks thereafter you should get a refund through the post.

We do NOT guarantee that there is a tax refund for everyone but 9 out of 10 cases we look at has resulted in a tax refund, so you stand a 90% chance of getting something back. We can advise you more on this as the case unfolds.

We will explain things in simple steps and we do not use jargon so that you will be comfortable with the processes involved.

If for any reason, we cannot secure you a tax refund, we will explain why this is the case and it is our duty to provide you with our findings, but most importantly you can be assured that even after all this work, we will not charge you a penny!

On the other hand we charge around 20% + VAT as fees on tax we recoup from the Revenue. This is the maximum amount, usually between 80% - 85% goes back to our client. If we save say £2500 our charge will be around £350 to £500. We will only charge 20% + VAT is our maximum for fees!

We require no money up front and we ONLY collect payment after the Revenue makes a tax refund, so our client is never out of pocket. As part of this 6 year period we will fix your tax going back to 1999/00 and reconcile all relevant figures with you, ensure you are kept informed at all times.
